The
Auto
Body
Repair
program
at
the
Albany
campus
is
a
two-part
program.
In
Auto
Body
Refinishing,
students
learn
how
to
use
state-of-the-art
automotive
refinishing
equipment
to
paint
complete
vehicles
or
vehicle
sections.
Students
also
learn
how
to
mix
specific
paint
colors,
detail
vehicles,
and
calculate
finishing
costs. Refinishing is taken as the first year of the program.
In
Auto
Body
Collision
Repair,
students
learn
how
to
replace
glass
and
panels,
weld,
and
straighten
panels
and
vehicle
structures.
Chief
E-Z
liner
straightening
equipment
and
Motor
E-Frame
electronic
measurement
data
are
used
in
the
structural
repair
part
of
this
program. Collision Repair is the second year of the program.
NATEF/ASE
certification
Career & Tech's Auto Body Refinishing program is certified by the National
Automotive Technicians Education Foundation/National Institute for Automotive
Service Excellence (ASE). This means the program has met stringent national
standards for curriculum, instructor and learning environment.
