Automotive Tech Prep

Automotive Tech Prep is a one-year, accelerated program that enables high school seniors to earn college credit while still in high school. Students also may work toward obtaining national Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification.

ASE credentials are valued by employers seeking qualified automotive technicians. While this is a one-year program, some students choose to enroll in Automotive Trades Technology as juniors and move up to Automotive Tech Prep for their senior year.

Engine repair
Engine performance
Integrated English 

College credits earned:
Students enrolled in Automotive Tech Prep may earn the following credits through 
Hudson Valley Community College, College in the High School program:
Engine Repair - 6 credits
Fuel Systems - 4 credits
Specifications - 2 credits

Credits also may be earned through: 
Columbia Greene Community College
Universal Technical Institute
University of Northwestern Ohio

Portfolio:
All seniors create a portfolio which they present to teachers, administrators, peers and/or industry professionals. The portfolio includes employability information and exemplary work in technical and communication skills that students have created and developed over the course of the year.

Academic prerequisites:
Math (two of the following): Course I, II or Tech Prep Math
3 years of English
Technology: related courses
