Building & Grounds
Maintenance
Special needs students in the Building &
Grounds Maintenance program at the Schoharie campus prepare for a range of
employment opportunities. The houses, apartment buildings, offices, schools,
hospitals, hotels, stores, parks, athletic fields and college campuses we use
every day have one thing in common: They all must be maintained. Building
& Grounds Maintenance students are exposed to a wide variety of skills and
are prepared for employment or further education.
Students develop skills in eight areas:
electricity, plumbing, carpentry, welding, landscaping, equipment maintenance
and repair, blueprint reading, and janitorial duties. Students work on

and customer service.
