Computer Applications
Computer Applications is a one-year program focusing on business software
such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and
Microsoft Publisher. Through this program, students may earn Microsoft
Office Specialist (MOS) certifications, which is recognized nationally by
employers and schools. They also may earn college
credits through articulation agreements with several
colleges. They also learn business math.
Computer Applications students work on projects such as
reports, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, announcements and
brochures, and they put their skills to the test through real-life work
requests. Qualified students participate in job sampling experiences at
local businesses. Computer Applications students can earn college credits
through articulation agreements and the College in the High School and
University in the High School programs. Upon completion, students may
continue their education through the International Virtual Business program
or the Web & Graphic Design program. Students also may enter college or the
workforce.

Students will be required to develop a portfolio which includes
