Computer Applications, Web Design students earn Microsoft Office Specialist and Internet Computing Core (IC3) national certifications
 

A number of students in Career & Tech's Computer Applications and Web Design programs have earned national Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) and Internet and Computing Core (IC3) certifications. The juniors and seniors had to pass national examinations to earn the certifications.

The following Computer Applications students earned Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in Word software:

Melissa Bihler, Guilderland H.S, senior
Jessica Wise, Guilderland H.S., junior
Cassandra Connell, Mohonasen H.S., junior
MaryEllen Abrams, Schenectady H.S., junior
Brandi Bernard, Schenectady H.S., senior
Thomas Schoenfeld, Scotia-Glenville H.S., junior
Kaytlin Rosenhack, Shenendehowa H.S., junior
Alex Waddington, Shenendehowa H.S., junior

The following Web Design students earned the Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3) that included passage of exams in Computing Fundamentals, Key Applications, and Living Online:

Adam Saint, Cohoes H.S., junior
Michaela Simmons, Schalmont H.S., senior
Anton Jenkins, Schenectady H.S., senior

The following Web Design students have passed one or two examinations toward the IC3 certification:

Matthew Kokes, Guilderland H.S., senior
John D. Breda, Mohonasen H.S., senior
Britzelee Salgado, Schenectady H.S., senior
Ashley Brozowski, Voorheesville H.S., senior

Students who earn national certifications such as MOS and IC3 are more competitive in the job market because they meet universally recognized industry standards. Career & Tech students prepare to earn numerous professional certifications and licenses.

Computer Applications and Web Design are two of nearly 40 programs of study offered to high school and adult students at the Capital Region Career & Technical School.
