LaMarche and Pallozzi join Capital Region Career & Technical School staff
LaMarche named Practical Nursing Coordinator; Pallozzi is Coordinator of Innovative Curriculum
The Capital Region Career & Technical School has hired Barbara LaMarche of Cohoes
as Practical Nursing Coordinator and Denise Pallozzi of Castleton as Coordinator of Innovative Curriculum. Both are based at the school's campus on Watervliet-Shaker Road in Colonie.
As Practical Nursing Coordinator, LaMarche is responsible for the school's full- and part-time Practical Nursing and Nurse Assistant programs. She has worked as an adjunct instructor in nursing at Maria College and Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) and came to Career & Tech from St. Peter's Hospital, where she was a staff nurse on the cardiac unit and electrophysiology lab. LaMarche also has worked at an area nursing home, for Northeast Health, in home health care, for the NYS Commission on Correction, and as a research coordinator at the New York State Assembly.
LaMarche holds an M.B.A. in Health Care Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and an A.A.S. in Nursing. She is president of the Cohoes Public Library Board of Trustees, co-founder of the Gretchen Hussey Scholarship Fund at HVCC, and has been active with the Northeast New York Chapter of the Alzheimers Association and the Bone Marrow Resource Foundation.
Pallozzi, Career & Tech's Coordinator of Innovative Curriculum, oversees the integration of technology into career and technical education courses as well as being responsible for curriculum development. She also will assist in coordinating and designing new curricula and implementing new programs. Pallozzi previously taught business at Maple Hill High School in Castleton and at Oceanside High School in California, where she also chaired the business department. She also taught at Plaza Business Institute in Jackson Heights, New York, and at Haines City High School in Florida.
Pallozzi holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Business Education and has completed coursework in accounting. She is a member of the National Education Association, New York State Business and Marketing Educators Association and New York State Business Teachers Association.
